Feeling fab - thank you weather for holding out... and for providing that lovely cooling breeze just when I needed it!!
Week 9 Run 3 - check!
Couch to 5km - check!
Awesome feeling of achievement - check!
Celebrations in progress - check!
I wanted 2012 to be my year to get back into running after a few years of being ill then recuperating... bought my runners in the January sales and had a couple of trial runs and felt a bit deflated... I knew couch 2 5k was about but took me a while to download the podcasts and hit the road.... I finally started this little caper on 30 April after twisted my best friend's arm to do Race for Life with me in July!
I set up a spreadsheet to keep track of my runs (I'm an administrator - I had to!) and set a realistic goal of completing by the end of June to give me time to rest if I needed to but also give me time after to practice for the Race for Life.
Here I am on 1 July - only 1 day off my goal and feeling (really quite) overwhelmed at how far I've come in such a short time.
x 1m!!!!
Thank you Laura, thank you NHS for making the fab couch to 5km website, thanks to my consultant for reminding me to build up my stamina slowly and to celebrate all the little milestones along the way, for my Weightwatchers crew for spurring me on - and to you guys for sharing your journies and helping me (and plenty of others) with theirs..... much appreciated....
Also personal thanks to my OH for helping me fit the runs in around hectic work schedules and precious weekend time together.
so tonight - 36 mins - 5.38km - very very happy!!!
Onwards and upwards - got 3 weeks before RFL so aiming to get 6 runs in before and mix it up with other activity.
Glowing with personal achievement and anyone who needs some get up & go tonight I have it in abundance!!!
PS Go Spain!!!!
