is seriously considering that what food you eat on the day of a run affects your runs? i usually reach for a bananna 1 hr before a run, sigh no bananna today and my run failed.... is this all in my head? I put it to my fellow runners-

Sorry, I am sure it must be down to science of which I'm no expert, as I usually run first thing in the morning on a glass of water and fresh air, maybe that's where I am going wrong. I will watch all the other replys with great interest.

I drink a glass of water before I run as I go out first thing in the morning too. I try and keep re-hydrated the day before and take on water if I wake in the night. I dont eat breakfast before as I would be afraid of the consequences while running!

I think week 6 was really hard - probably after psyching up for the big W5R3 and expecting nothing would be harder ever again!

Good luck! :)

No way I could run without my breakfast but I do leave an hour at least before I go out. For what it's worth I found week 6 going back to intervals harder than W5R3. My advice - stock up on the bananas and try again! You will get there!

Hello, I too found Wk6 run 2 really hard - funnily enough, harder than the wk 6 run 3 which is for 25 minutes without a break. I've noticed that I often run better in an evening than I do in the morning (I did the wk6 run2 in a morning, and the wk6 run 3 in an evening) - I just sometimes find it harder to get myself going properly early in the day. I have found that often the run is more of a mental battle than a physical one, but often it's a good bit of both. Have you noticed you run better/worse at different ends of the day?

I tend to prefer running later in the day. I just feel really out of sorts in the morning. Not sure how this is going to work when the evenings are dark!

after feeling abit disapointed last week i didnt run again, back on it tonight- bananna and 1 hour later week 6 run 2 accomplished, still feeling that it was actually harder than week 5 run 3! (so strange), i definatly agree its a mental battle aswell as physical! & reminding myself that a few months ago i couldnt get to the top of the stairs without feeling breathless, i actually have come a very long way- onto week 6 run 3 guys!! whos with me!! :D
