goog luck with W4. Have you tried a heel raiser (not sure if thats what they are called) but Boots sell them. They are gel based and act as a shock absorber. :)

Good luck I hope it goes well for you. So frustrating when an injury holds you back. This really will help your bp I have noticed a significant effect on mine. No giving up now hope to stop poping pills but just need to loose a bit more weight first.

Not sure if it will work for you, but I had this a few years ago. Went to docs, had tablets, injections, , rest, threats of casts, etc. Nothing worked. Changed doctors, new doctor said either wear a heel pad in your shoes for a couple of weeks or some high heels to take the pressure of the heel. Tried it, and within a few days it was gone, every time I get a niggle now, I just pop the pad in for a few days. Passed the tip on to a few cycling friends and it worked for them, too. Might be worth a try... (and now that I've typed all this, I just realise hollyO has said the same thing! Ooops!)

I also have this and nothing has worked. Saw a specialist this week and am getting shock wave therapy on the tendon. Will be 3 treatments 4 weeks apart. Will report back once I get it and let you know.

Ihave gotten a bit of a sore Achilles when I play soccer (football), the heal pad worked a teat for me. i also make sure I stretch my Achilles ,as well as the rest of me , after each run :-) Old body needs lots of stretching ,seems to keep me from getting too sore though .
