Down at Milford on Sea and at 6pm set off along my favourite route to Keyhaven. Usually I turn inland and head for home at this point but no, last night I thought I would go a bit further along the sea wall.
What I was thinking of I really don't know but I just kept going on the path. After three miles I was still on the path but absolutely knackered. Oh dear.
The only option was to hoof it back. So, through a combination of walking and jogging 1.5 hours and 6 miles later I staggered in through the front door.
Boy did that beer waiting in the fridge taste good!
Think it must be old age. Think I will have a rest today.

That's a 10k near as dammit!! Well done - you don't want to do that too many times, but the odd one won't hurt. And now you know you can do it! Here's to many more
Rest day, and then another and maybe one more I suspect! You must be exhausted! It's a real achievement for you. Look after your knees for a while now: lots of ice!!
Yep bought two of those ice packs that come with the bag from boots - one for each knee! Wow I look so glamorous sitting with my feet up on a chair and ice packs balanced on both knees My husband just shakes his head.
Next run is the jubilee parkrun on Tuesday. Maybe some Nordic walking before then but no running.
