When you get up at 5.25am just to get your run in before work because you won't have time after, then it's an addiction and you are quite mad!

So, out and at 'em...up at stupid o'clock (to incredulous murmurs from hubby "mental woman") and up over Yellowtor, (not as romantic as it sounds, just the local housing estate), but then down the road and over the Tamar Road Bridge (opened 1961, just a year younger than me!) and nearly as far as Devonport barracks (no uniforms in sight sadly!!!).

Then the real struggle starts as the last mile back is more or less straight uphill; ok I exaggerate slightly, but definitely a climb if you look at the chart. Sweat was running down my face; I was very glad I'd taken the water with me.

Home, finally, stretches, and off to feed the chooks. Poached eggies for breakfast - thanks girls!!

Is the title of this blog what you did before breakfast this morning?????

If that is the case then hats off to you, you are some runner.

Yes Dansmum, I was on the road at 5.30am and that was the final total on the Garmin. It was only meant to be about 4, but just kept getting longer, as I went over the bridge and tried to work out when was the best time to turn around! We are away for the weekend, so I wanted to put the effort in now to offset all the eating and drinking that's going to be going on!!

Good for you Caroel! It's a bit of a thought getting up that early but you instantly feel better for it once you're out there. Looks like you had a lovely setting for your run too and well done on that last hill, sounds tough! Just think it's not even 9am yet and you've achieved something for the day already :D

Thanks Rose885,

Yup, that was the plan. Sometimes the early alarm works, and sometimes it doesn't; as in, it always goes off, I just don't always hear it! However motivation is strong at the moment; I'm recovering from injury and am just so glad to be able to get out when I want to after over two weeks of champing at the bit with a bad knee.

Off to Gloucester for the weekend, lots of walking, but no running till Monday. :)

A nice rest for the knee too Carole. Hat is off to you running that far before work. I look forward to the day i do that, at present i am too much of a night owl to contemplate and only do my longer runs on weekend mornings.

Hope you have lovely weather for walking.
