Week 2 run 2 - OUCH!

Completed the run earlier this evening, but had to take it slow slow slow which is disappointing because of some pain. Never mind shin splints, I'm getting pain in my thighs too, it's like I can feel very bone in my legs crushing each other. I'm good at coping with pain so I did it, but why is the question?!

Feeling a bit sore the day after a run is not unusual but severe pain is not normal. Have you had gait analysis to help you with shoe selection? It really makes a difference - if you don't have the right support / cushioning this can cause problems with you legs. I know this to my cost. I had very bad right knee pain after a run. I listened to the advice on this site and got a pair of shoes for overpronators and like magic all my knee pain went.

Yeah, i have the right shoes. I think it's just my body taking a bit longer than a day to recover. If it is bad again tomorrow, i'll seek some professional help!

Im in the same boat as you. Just did week 2 run 2 last night and I am in pain. its fine when im running but when i have to switch to walking during and after the pain hits me like a brick wall. Shin splints i believe. Doesn't help that I am overweight and i just pray it is going to get better.

Yep! Same! run 1 this week was fine, but run 2 was torture! I hope our poor legs get better.

Thanks, I really hope so too. I will try icing them tonight again. I do not want to have to take a break and I am convinced the pain is because my body is not used to such activities. Lets hope run 3 goes better tomorrow x
