Hi evetyone,

I'm planning on starting on Monday (gulp) but unsure how I plan where I'm going to run too.

I obviously don't want to stop the run when I'm away from the house and then have to "crawl" back to the house.

All I know is week 1 is 1/2 hour in total but how can I plan it to get home in one piece?!!

Walk for 5 minutes and then do the first run/walk intervals for 10 minutes, going away from your home. Then turn around and do the same returning home, ie. walk/run for 10 minutes and cool down walk for 5 minutes.

You should end up right back at your door :)

If you prefer to do a loop then you could plan it by using goodrunguide.com, which has an easy to use 'plan your route' section.

I use Good Run Guide, its great, now that I'm further through the program I also use my own stop watch to time my runs as I have a habit of keeping on going if I can after the time is up. I have to confess that in the early days I used to avoid ups like the plague so its worth thinking about which roads, park your going to take.

I think it's free for the first month. By then you will have sorted out all your routes :)

I always run in one direction then turn after the walk midway, it may mean the last walk is slightly longer but its always worked for me

I used to run/walk around the local racecourse which is 2.1 mile. I had to drive there and back though. The drive back was always a red faced, window down affair and I often got funny looks from other drivers whilst at traffic lights. :)

I've seen on here theres a website some use called mapmyrun, I'm not sure if that's free or not but you may be able to find a route on there.

Map my run is free for the basic programme, which is all you need. If you have a gps phone it will also record your run for you.
