I currently use Endomondo on my phone which isn't very reliable and put me running in a field last night which I was not! Just curious as to what others use to track distance and time.

I downloaded endomondo to track my cycling a couple of months ago, but I've also got runkeeper. Runkeeper bases your calories burnt on the speed, which I've got to say probably makes a difference! So I tend to use runkeeper more, but the gps is a bit pants sometimes. It takes a while to find me and one time just had me going in zig zags doubling the distance, which was a little weird!

I might look at getting something like CaroleCs one, but need to buy the running shoes first!

I'd like something that will tell me more than my average speed though, as thats not telling me what speed I'm running at!

I treated myself to a Garmin Forerunner 305 a few weeks after graduating.

My sister had lent me her older Garmin (the HRM wasnt working so she had got a new one) to try out once I started running outdoors in Week 8 of the programme and I liked it.

I was just going to keep hers but figured I deserved a nice new one with a few more features, I would have had to have spent around £50 to get a new HRM so I put that money towards a new one instead. I had also just got to 4 stone weight loss so that was my reward! I could have got a cheaper one but this was well recommended by several of my sister's running club. It did cost £138 mind but I am worth it!

I am not very techie so don't use all the features, but it does the basics very well and I am getting to know more about what it can do.

iPhone and Endomondo. Mapping seems to be incredibly accurate, I can even see where I crossed the road.

iphone and micoach.

I really want the Garmin 110 but I'm not working right now so I have to wait :(

If you do 50 weeks running with the sweatshop running team you get a free garmin forerunner worth £320, I'll bet you can't guess who goes running with them since hearing that news :D

Garmin 110 same as Carole C (has great website for uploading stats) and also iPod nano with Nike+ (rubbish website though).

very poor, so a little running watch, seems quite accurate and really motivates me with my speed and steps.

I use MapMyRun+ on my android phone. I've only just started but seems to do everything I want it to and its free.

Nike + on my iPod touch. And Endomondo to get my distance using GPS to calibrate the Nike + (which was seriously overestimating my distances before calibration).

I just listen to the radio through my mobile, it has an alarm I can set for 30 mins or whatever time I plan to run. I do map my run on one of the websites which tells me pace and distance. So I know I'm improving.

I use Endomondo with my HTC phone. I actually complained to them yesterday about the GPS problems as the app hasn't worked properly for ages. Seems a lot of people have been having the same issues so hope they sort it out soon! I would like a garmin but will have to wait til xmas and see if santa brings me one haha.

Glad it's not just me. It had me zig zagging all over the road, surely that will add to the distance that I am not actually running?! I think I too will have to wait till xmas. Hey ho!

Thanks for posting this. I've been having problems with Endomondo too, although only for the last week or so. I ended up running exactly the same course as normal on Wednesday, which I've run with Endomondo several times and know is exactly 5k, only to discover that the app thought I'd only run 4.75k.

Up until recently I would have said this was a great little app but if they don't sort this out soon I'm going to have to swap to something else.

I stopped using endomondo because of poor gps.

I tried mapmyrun for a while, but noticed the distances have been coming up wrong!

Now I'm using runkeeper and out of the 3 it is my favourite. It more or less works the same and gives you a update every 5 minutes of distance, speed and pace over your own play list or the radio, which I find quite motivating.

I have a Nike+ Sportband (with the 'pod' in a pouch attached to my shoelaces) - I got the Sportband version as I don't have an iPod and at about £40 this was cheaper than buying one! It's really just a sophisticated pedometer (no GPS) but gives me all I need (for now!) and keeps a record of all my runs and basic stats on the Nike+ website. (website isn't fantastic but hey). I can check my pace, distance and time elapsed while running which I find really useful. Calibrating it was tricky at first as it didn't recognise any of my runs as being 'valid' to calibrate, but once I started running a bit faster I think it suddently cottoned on to the fact that I WAS actually running :-).

Having said that, a sexy little Garmin as mentioned above might just creep onto my Christmas list this year..... ;-)

Garmin Forerunner 110 for me. Really like the website where you upload the stats of your runs and I've been sharing that with a friend who has given me good advice about intensity of training.
