Woohoo! Week 6 run 2 done... and it went really well!

Last night I completed the run for week 6 run 2, and I couldn't really believe how well it went. All the way around I kept thinking to myself 'when is the pain and suffering going to kick in!?' but it never came. I think it was due to me mentally setting myself up to take things slow through the run. I paced myself well and started off slowly, only picking up a little speed when I finished the first ten minutes and it felt like I'd only run 3! It's not stopped me dreading the next run though, a full on 25 minutes... really not sure if I can do that yet! It makes such a difference when you don't have that chance to stop and catch your breath. Fingers crossed!

Sounds like you've got your tactics sorted, so I think you will be fine when you do the next run . . and the one after that and so on! Well done.

I've found exactly the same thing. Pacing myself is everything. I know many people on C25K have apps to measure speed and distance but I'm not one of them. It's about finishing each run and enjoying it for me. Once I've graduated (see, no thoughts of not graduating!) I can then think about those things.

Thanks :)

I use the map my run app to live track as I run around but I don't really pay much attention to my overall pace or anything, I just like to know how far I've gone at the end of it. I'm the same, I just focus on getting the run done and then after graduating, when I'm able to do the 30 minutes without dying, I'll attempt to speed up a little (maybe!!).

Yes, just running for the allotted time is enough for me too, speed can come later. Sounds like its clicked for you SallyT! I'm still figuring it out! Good luck for the 25mins..... Don't think you'll need it though!

I did W6R3 today, I was so scared it was going to be really hard, especially as I found W6R2 difficult.. but it was a breeze and I feel amazing for finishing it! Good luck, you'll smash it!
