went to sleep last night with the idea that I would get out for a run this morning, I'd eaten my training curry but avoided the beer, woke up this morning to heavy rain and wind.
Laid there negotiating with myself and decided maybe see what the weather was like later in the day... go later it might ease up...
Made a cuppa and popped in here to see what you good folks are up to...
Which would be running in the rain... of course
Darn it. Guilt.
So I got dressed, attached the garmin and stood still in pouring rain while it connected itself to the darn satellite, this was not going to be fun... Light rain is fine, even snow, this stuff... Hurts
then I cheated... I'd decided that since I haven't sorted my own music out yet and today didn't look like a day for running with just my own thoughts, I would run with Laura and week 9 again, but... I didn't fancy the brisk 5 min warm up walk in this weather, so I just started the running instead (I know it's naughty and it's important to warm up properly and any new folks out there just you do what Laura tells you to do or it's going to hurt lol )
Anyway, this impulsive tactic actually proved to be a motivator as every time Laura chipped in with 'you've done 5, 10 mins etc' I was 5 mins ahead! and feeling smug... and wet, and cold and struggling with headwind, receiving very puzzled looks from miserable paperboys weighed down with the Sunday papers, soggy wet feet from puddles, vision all obscured as glasses covered in rain..
But I'm back in the dry, with kit in a steaming wet heap on the kitchen floor, back in dressing gown, kettle on for a cuppa before I have a warming shower and a bacon buttie I think 30 mins 3.92k matches PB and I'm chuffed I got out there
