My turn to do the ponies this morning and as the temp was due to soar thought I would give this early running a bash.
How do 3 horses (Not all mine! they share a field) manage to produce so much poo over night? 40 mins I spent lugging a wheelbarrow of poop around the field. Glamourous I know! ๐ At 8am I set off on my run. It was quite warm already by then. I had Laura for company today in the hope I'd get to 30mins. Close but no cigar! I managed 28.5 mins, by which point I was virtually running on the spot. That last pull up to the motorway bridge really tested me today. I'm happy with my run. Most of it I felt comfortable, in a good rhythm. Just the last bit I ran out of steam. Not sure if it was running with no fuel on board, time of day or not fully recovered from blood doning.
But it's fine. It's where I am at the moment and 28.5 mins better than 12 weeks ago ๐๐๐
Happy running folks xxx
Ps yet to be convinced on this early (ish) malarky x

Thatโs a pretty good pre run workout! Sounds like a great run to me... and if you finished on empty then thatโs cool, you gave it everything... and without the unusual pre run routine youโd have run 30 easy.
We need to get the planners to force roads over the running routes rather than the other way round, my car doesnโt struggle with an uphill late in the journey, I do!!!
Well done, you are still out there and still running, that's what counts.
I hear you on the poop scooping, although mine is dogs and not horses but I need to train them to poop over a bucket sunk in the ground, would make my life so much easier !
Thatโs a really good run, I did my third consolidated run yesterday and only ran for 23 mins but Iโm happy with that, like you say, looking back to W1 whoโd have thought it possible! ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ X
I know exactly what you mean about the amount of poo and wheelbarrowing - I used to have ponies!! Well done for trying an early run. I prefer morning runs because I feel too tired later in the day, especially on work days. Keep up the good work
PS What type of pony do you have? I used to have a wonderful Fell and cheeky Shetland
He's an Irish sports horse but has a lot of Irish draught so chunky. He's an absolute star and got me back riding after a few nasty incidents on a TB. I'm his 2nd mum as don't have time or money to have my own x
