Seeking forgiveness and a tough talking to....

(juicydee if you'd be so kind I'm seeking forgiveness... )

All of you, thank you so very very much for your kind words on my graduation blogs last weekend :)

Move house week as been stressful and hard work, I've moved from one private rent to a friends place who works away and wanted a house sitter. No move is simple however I was moving in on top of what effectively was a building site 24 hours before (still is outside lol) carpets were being put down here as my belongings were being loaded into a lorry at the other end it was that tight on timescale...

I haven't run since last Sunday, until this morning, this is why I need forgiveness :)

After a nudge into action (Ali has been stalking) I'm back. Well, not exactly. I've run for 15 mins this morning instead of 30 :( now don't all rush to be kind to me about that lol it's tough talking that is required here! I'm a graduate with a badge and everything and i should know better! I let the 15 mins happen... my mind had it planned for me in the first 5 mins, and I let it :(

I went out in the rain though - yes that is feeble :(

I need to get a grip and be disciplined again, I have goals to reach! I'm 1k short of 5k still. Focus. Back to work tomorrow, I think I better plan my running week and enlist the fabulous Jen (work colleague and friend) for a couple of runs round parts of the xcountry course at work.

marathon training now consists of a cuppa tea and watching...

Nah, I'm in no position to shout at you BUT please realise that comments like this are good for people like me, it makes me feel if I do lag a bit it is quite normal.

So you are doing good in other ways. ;)

Am sure you will get back into it very soon.

Good to see you back I was wondering where you were! :)

Have you seen this post re park runs, we're going to be doing on various dates over the next few weeks so it can give you some motivation if you're interested?? Ali & I are doing a run on 26 May and others are doing different dates and I am really really nervous but also excited so am working towards it.

I did 4K in 33 mins on Friday, the furthest and longest I've run for and I've got a 12 week plan in place to get me to the Race for Life in July so I find having a plan works for me maybe you need something like that, so - get back to it!!! :) :) :)

Don't be so hard on yourself... Forgive yourself and move on :) lesson learnt. Life will always happen while you are busy making other plans! I watched the start of the marathon before I went out this morning, put it on sky record while I was out and now watching it now I'm back... It's great motivation and inspiration, especially the non pro runners who face daily adversity with disability. They really are incredible :)

If you really want a talking to you should get back out there and do those 30 mins like you should have, no excuses!!!!

On the other hand moving house is one of the most stressful things I have ever done, don't let it de-rail you, getting on here and confessing all is always a good way to make sure you won't do it so easily again :)

I think you have a double dare to be living up to young lady!

What's with all this having a life outside running?

;-)

Glad you're back, have been wondering where you are. Thought you might have a really good excuse for not posting but you have only been caught up with moving house and all that entails, really, what excuse will you use next time :) :) Sort of stern talking to over with. I didn't measure my run on Saturday but I think I was really close to 5K if I didn't actually do it. That was 36 minutes so I think you will definitely get there before the park run. I've still not committed to it but if I can talk my daughter into coming with me I will.

I know exactly what you mean about knowing in the first 5 minutes that you weren't going to make it to the end - that's just how I felt yesterday when I had my failed attempt at graduating - something just wasn't going to see me getting to the end. But today I have gone out and done it and now I am eagerly awaiting my graduate badge :-)

Come on Bxster...your running blogs are ones that really inspired me!

Make yourself a plan for the next few weeks and stick to it..

Consider your arse kicked!!!!

(Don't be too hard on yourself though...what you've already achieved is amazing!!!!) :) :)

Hi Bxster,

Revd Juicy a little late to the party here, but I hereby declare your sins are forgiven.......

And you know what that means - you can move on!!! Sounds like you already have, actually - but just keep in mind that this is a TOUGH call; millions don't make it (maybe because they've never tried) but YOU have proved that you can do it!! And if it's any consolation, I have spent several weeks since my own graduation 'consolidating' ie running 30 mins or 5k (the 5k is the longer one) just to get used to the idea.

I did 6k today just cos I was p***ed off doing 5k every time - but it was pretty challenging and I had to have a couple of Nurofen afterwards in order to survive the Annual Church Meeting this evening (mind you, so did the vicar...).

OK - not the arse-kicking you were hoping for perhaps - but the tradition in my branch of the church is all about living under grace, not the law - so grace, mercy and peace be with you - and lots of love xxx
