Sometimes all you need is brute force and ignorance......

Since my excitement last weekend the longest run I have been able to squeeze out is about 4.5 k. Getting used to the fact that when a longer run hits the schedule it is a week or so before I am any use at all.

Not looking for sympathy I hope you all understand but it struck me that it was the equivalent of happily doing week 9 then only being able to run week 1.

Hey ho.

Anyways beautiful day today, distrance back up and time not too bad but I desperately wanted to love it with the sun being out and everything but I felt weak as a kitten all the way round so it was a grind from start to hateful finish.

Hey ho.

Onwards and upwards.

Have a good week-end.

hmm actually isn't that something to do with that runners should only do shorter distance runs after a long one?... that's what your body needs you to do after a long run; shorter ones (both time out and distance) before getting back to regular distance

(I've been reading a lot recently lol)

I hope your next run leaves you feeling more positive

I had a run like that a couple of weeks ago, great conditions, beautiful morning etc but felt like I was dying and only managed to finish through utter stubbornness!!

Thats very interesting Greg. I am doing a 12k in June and wonder how I will pull up afterwards. Presently my run schedule is erratic (surgery and strained shoulder ligaments aside). I tend to run sat, sun, mon then again on Friday. I have other exercise commitments on the other days but I find my hardest run by far is Friday night after a few days off. Go figure that one!
