The person on here, who put into words the way that we talk to ourselves when we are trying to do something a bit uncomfortable and part of you wants to stop and you know there's no real reason to stop unless you're in some physical trouble, so you have to question the unwilling part of you until it realises there's no good reason to stop.

I can't remember which one of you lovely forummers it was, but essence of the post has stayed with me and I'm trying to carry it with me when I do anything that requires even a modicum of concentration. I honestly believe it will change my life as I practise that argument with myself; just one of the many ways that running will make everything better :)

Happy 2018, everyone x

I don’t know who it was either, but it does sound like very sage advice. Happy New Year!

My mind is my best friend and worst enemy when I am out running. Oh the arguments we have! I always try and say to myself that I will always regret not running than going out for a run and regret not finishing the run once I have made it out there in the first place. My body is strong enough to run the 28 min (week 8, run 2 tomorrow morning) so why not just finish it and enjoy the runners high afterwards? If I stop, I will be disappointed and only have to try the run again, so it's always easier to keep running if I can. The only person stopping me is me :)

I've looked and looked - a couple of people will get some random notifications as I've "followed" some other really great posts that I'm filing away as other examples of great advice or putting things into words - but I just can't find this one!

Happy New Year to you too Dave!
