Only on W1R2 and nearly wimped out! Put it off til late afternoon and forced myself to put on my trainers and start walking. I was so glad I did, even though 60 seconds running feels like its going to kill me! I can't believe how unfit I am! I need all the encouragement I can get!

YOU DID IT! Be happy you managed to do this. I felt the same as you, I couldn't believe how long a minute was! I am now on week 8 which proves you can also do it. I was 'allergic' to exercise but this plan is fab and makes you feel great physically and mentally. KEEP GOING!

Well done you for going out!!! I think that the majority of us were very unfit when we started so good on for doing the hardest part..starting.

Keep it up and let us know how you get on. Lots of support on here!

Well done you got out there and did it!! I felt like that when I started and today I ran for 20 mins.

Stick with it and try push yourself out the door even when you don't think you can. The YES moments are so worth it and will spur you on to the next run.

You'll be fine. I think your motivation increases as you get further into the program - you'll start to welcome the challenge. I find that even if I feel c**p to start with, I feel great by the end of each run - mentally, I feel a lot more positive than I did before starting the program. Well done !

Thankyou, yes I'm looking forward to that.

I'm still having to force myself out of the door and i remember very well how hard 60 seconds was - but I just ran 25 minutes today! It seems like it can't be possible in such a short amount of time but trust the program - the hardest part is starting in the first place and sticking with it, so well done you for doing it even when you ddin't fancy it. It won't be long before you start to feel the benefits - and the pride that you can do so much more in just a few weeks. You're going to have a brilliant time discovering what you can do! Keep up the great work!

One of the hardest things is going out when you don't feel like it, you have passed the test straight away, no matter how hard the runs are you always feel better for doing it, best of luck with your next runs, keep blogging, there are always people on here who will support you through

You're certainly not on your own Gridlet, not even when you're out there running! Well done on starting the plan :)

Keeeeeeep goooooooingggg Gridlet!!!! This programme is so good for your mental state as well as physical, as you learn to overcome doubts, fears, sloth (sorry - is that one just me??) and each experience like this that you conquer will add to your strength for next time. It won't always be plain sailing (seriously mixing my metaphors here) but honestly, the hardest part is getting those trainers on and getting out the door. The running gets easier (well, kinda, as there's always another challenge round the corner) and you will make enornous progress in a very short space of time, which will make you feel ohhhhhsoooooo good!! And a tiny bit smug. As well you might be!

Cheering you on with all the other lovely peeps on here!! :-)

We've all been there, Gridlet. I used to be counting down the seconds of the short run segments to take my mind off how badly it was hurting my body. Yesterday, I went out and ran 5k. But I still have my days when I have to force myself out of the door. And I bet that applies to everyone who runs, even top athletes. You will feel so much better for sticking to the programme, though. xxx

Oh yes, I intend to. I can't wait to say "yesterday I went out and ran 5k"!

It seems unreal!

Well done you ! The encouragement we all give each other on here is really good. We all started with Run 1 Week 1 and there are more peeps joining all the time. In a few weeks time you'll be one of those encouraging the beginners, too. Keep it up x

I managed to finish week 1 last Saturday and couldn't believe how hard I found it. I was dreading W2R1 - and was amazed how easily I completed it - in fact because I can't do a loop I had gone too far out and my "warm down" walk was more like 15 mins not 5 as I had lost track of where I was up to! So don't give up. Don't read the blogs that talk about weeks in the future either as I find these make me start to dread them - and they are ages away!

Well done you! Thanks for the advice, sounds good. I'm going to go out early in the morning tomorrow in the hope I'll feel energised, I'm looking forward to it!

That might depend on where you live! We have been forecast snow and as keen as I am I'm not going out running in the snow for anyone!
