But why 2 weeks of intervals next? Is it to build stamina? I've been running on the treadmill for a couple of years but decided to venture outdoors, so my stamina is pretty good. I found the last 2 mins of the run tough but coped ok.
Will seem strange to go back to walking!

I always thought it was so that you didnt think you were superman/superwoman & overdo it which may cause an injury.
after running 20 mins the plan breaks the running 10% rule (no more than 10% increase in speed OR mileage) as this may result in injury. I made this mistake after finishing C25K & it cost me a month off due to knee pain.
your body is still getting used to this physical activity & it is easy to do more than you should without paying the price
I found wk6, r1 very difficult after the big 20min run. some do, some dont.
