There's no shame in repeating a week...

I originaly started the C25K programme a few weeks ago but when I got to wk3 I developed shin splints so I had to take 2 weeks off. Today I felt ready to try again but was really worried about starting at wk3 after such a long break so I decided that I would start over...just see how my shins felt. When I was running before I took the break, I was getting so disheartened because I didn't feel like I was making progress...it just felt like a struggle all the time and it wasn't getting any easier. This time it was awesome and I have proved to myself that I was improving! It really helped to see how far I have come. It was so much easier that when I did it before. I probably could have just repeated week 2 but I wanted to break my shins in gently. Seeing how far I have come has really given me my motivation back!! So, don't ever be disheartened if you need to repeat a week...there is no shame in it and it will only show you how well you have done. I can't wait to get out there and do it again now! I am doing the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday and going back a couple of weeks has given the confidence boost I needed and shown me that I can do it!

I'm on week 7 and I will probably repeat it next week. I don't feel ready to move on to week 8 even though there's not much difference between them. The good thing about the program is you can tackle it at your own pace. Good luck on Sunday.

Really nice to read your post. You've done so well to go back to it. I'm facing up to having a second week off after a bad chest infection and ankle injury. I tried running at the weekend and was in tears at the end wheezing and limping and feeling like a failure generally. But my ankle is slowly getting better with the help of frozen peas and painkillers. So very encouraging that other people have had set backs and kept going.
