I am 55 (nearly 56!) and am on week 6. My knees feel as though they have taken a bit of a bashing since I have been running and I have to go down the stairs one at a time when I get out of bed in the morning...poor old crock.
Has anyone got any recommendations for joint supplements that might help?

I take glucosamine. it was recommended to me by a friend who is hot on herbal remedies. if you have a Savers near you they arent very expensive in there but watch out as you can pay a fortune for these.
Yes glucosamine was also recommended to me many years ago by a physio along with cod liver oil, I took both for quite a while but have got out of the habit now...I really should look into that again!
Buy in bulk to reduce to price if you can, I think Kleeneze does a years supply (or maybye 6 months) for what you'd pay for a 1 month supply in boots so it does pay to shop around.
I use glucosamine and cod liver oil. I'm 51 and my knees were definitely feeling it, even with taking the appropriate rest days. Am injured with ankle problem at the minute so having to take enforced non-running for two weeks, very annoying!!
Definitely glucosamine I also started taking cider vinegar. Supposed to be really good for joints and pretty much everything. 2 teaspoons a day. you can put it in juice or water. If you google it they have other suggestions
Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. I have been out and bought some glucosamine and extra strength fish oil (from lidl thanks for the tip) and also am going to give the cider vinegar a try. It can't do any harm and might taste ok with some honey and hot water.
Went for week 6 run 2 tonight and felt much better than run 1 so fingers crossed for my 25 mins on Sunday.
