W1R2 sticking to the plan

The squirrels in my head were busy today. They got me in trouble last time I tried this. I ended up listening to them and went too fast, for too long, too soon. I had to tell them to shut up. I done want to be done when I am only getting started. I also don't need any injury or inflamed anything with my ballet recital a month from today. Taking ballet again after almost 50 years is also part of me discovering who I am in my widowhood.

Today felt good and having a new playlist of some of my favorite 80's songs helped. Good for me for staying the course.

those pesky squirrels they can be real nuisance monkeys. When they visit me I start tiptoe running to slow down it works a treat . With ballet experience you should be great at that. Well done you and enjoy your rest day

Fabulous suggestion! I am writing that on a sticky note so that I can see it when I am on my treadmill.

Glad to help I can’t even remember how I stumbled across it if you pardon the pun. But you just can’t sprint on tiptoes unless you’re Usain Ballet!

I leaned this lesson the hard way...stick to the programme. I didn't and got injured. I'm on my third c25k since last year due to going to fast or hard. I'm on w9r1 today.

Very well done!

I echo the ‘slow and steady’ mantra…

Hello I graduated a few weeks ago and am now recovering from an injury 😩 Too fast, too soon, too much wishful ‘Spring’ in my step! Slow and steady is definitely the way to avoid injury.

I just wanted to say, I’m glad you are on this forum, it’s super supportive and there are some extremely knowledgeable and helpful people here, that will be with you throughout your journey.

I ran my graduation run (virtual obvs!) with 2 wonderful women. One in Italy and one in U.K. — I now live in Portugal!

I have a friend here whose husband died Nov 2023 We often walk by the sea. With the wind, the waves sometimes crash in from 2 opposing places. It feels like the tsunami of grief collides with the tsunami of love she experiences. Grief I know is so personal but to reiterate, glad you are here. ♥️

I relate grief to the crashing of the waves and the ebb and flow of the tide. Sometimes it comes lightly lapping at the shore and other times it's a violent storm, crashing into the shore. How wonderful to be able to walk by the sea with your friend. There's something cathartic about the sound and smell that is good for the soul. I'm awful glad that your friend has you to walk with. Having someone beside you in your grief walk is so important. Thanks for the warm welcome.
