I came to the realisation today that I could probably actually run a 5k if I had to or wanted too, it’s just maybe subconsciously I use it because I know I am not good at keeping my fitness levels up or improving them and which can be like a roller coaster and go up or down very rapidly-again I ran multiple virtual coaching apps (again no pun intended) today on week 2 of the C25k, it was a great 👍 rum this time with a 5 minute warm up and longer intervals and once again I didn’t listen to the voice of Joe Willey breaking the lining of my ear drums as I really was trying to push myself and in the background had the other apps running which for one was asking that bit more and for two pushed me further by me personally trying to get my stats up that being the 💯 % military fitness app and the Nike plus running app.
It was good as I only stopped once for the walking interval and ran the rest after the five minute warm up-the only difference between them is that I have the sweet voice or Joe Willey breaking my ear drums in stark contrast to the sweet wee Scottish lass and the robotic synth droney female voice I choose preference over from the Nike plus running coach on my Apple Watch ⌚️

I use Jo Whiley, but then I don't mind listening to her on the radio. The sound levels however are rubbish, she's always way louder than my music. And I think you must be referring to Sarah Millican, who's Geordie, not Scots!
The music fades down, yes, but her voice level is way louder than the music level when it's playing. Probably just bad recording. But I don't keep turning her down because I'd have to turn the music back up again to be able to hear it over the traffic on my road.
It looks like you are not following the C25K plan, which is your prerogative, but if you are a new runner, then C25K is a proven method of getting your fitness levels up with minimal risk. Many who make their own way end up injuring themselves and then decide that they are not cut out for running, so stop, doing nothing long term for their fitness levels.
If you are going to ignore the plan, then we would rather that you do not post your deviations on this forum. You may well be lucky and get away with doing more than is advisable, but others may not be so lucky and as a mentor, whose role is to guide new runners safely through the programme, we would not encourage others to follow your route.
Well I think I can run a 5k it is just I am aiming above that to half/marathon and further ultrathon etc, I thought I would try using this app to help keep and improve my fitness whilst using and trying other apps as there does seem to be quite a few out there,
As I said, that is up to you, but we discourage people from "doing too much, too soon" which is a sadly common theme. Training plans are carefully designed, not just random progression and sticking to one is a safe way to learn to run.
If you want to do a marathon look at a beginner's marathon training plan and stick to that, don't just keep doing more and more, or your body will likely stop playing ball at some point.
Any experienced runner will tell you that slow and steady progress is the only way.
I suppose when your there it’s about maintaining it or when your building up to it and you know your capable then maybe you are right but my fitness levels are not what they should be which is why I am trying to take the fast track approach and try as many different virtual running coach apps as possible as like I say there are a lot out there and a half marathon is at least 4-5 times more then a 5k but it is a good starting point I must admit and I do like it, it is designed well and so is the Programe, very simple to use and follow with notification and alerts too, more apps should follow suit and integrate it too
