As the title say's really! I am 41 and today I have done day 2 of week 1!! I have NEVER jogged before let alone run!! But I am so looking forward to my future. I have always wanted to be able to run, do you think I will be ok? (ps).. I have already lost 3 stone and I am feeling great! Also I stopped smoking Jan 1st too x

No of course not. As long as you have had the all clear from your GP.

Have you seen the video - Ben does Life? If you goggle it you can watch his amazing and inspiring story of how he lost 120 lbs partly by running.

Good luck.

Sounds like you are well up for C25k, fatty, so go for it! Best wishes! :)

I did it and still run more than 5k three times a week and I'm 3 stone overweight. Take care listen to your body and enjoy.

PS well done quitting the cigs, you can do it!

Definitely not! When I started last year, I was five stone overweight.

In fact, Couch-to-5K is a great way to _stop_ being three stone overweight! Since I started running (and swimming, and dieting), I have dropped three stone. I am still two stone overweight... but also still running, swimming, and dieting. I expect to be at a normal weight again later this year.

Happy running! :-)

I started as 4 stone overweight back in march, I just took it a bit slower than Laura suggested, repeated lots of weeks. I've got one stone left to go and now run 5km 3 times a week.

No way - I am also 3 stone overweight and almost through week three. Ok, thought I was going to expire after run 1, but now getting into my stride. Starting is the hardest bit - you can do it and you will get all the support you need on the forum. The guys and gals who regularly answer beginners' questions are so kind and helpful. Good luck! How are we classifying overweight, for me to be a "normal bmi" i would have to be 12 stone 1. im currently 19 stone thus making me 7 stone over weight. At 12 stone i would look guant. Start week 3 r 1 tomorrow. I hope to get down to 15 stone with c25k and lifestyle changes
