Interval running

Well tonight on Beyond c25k I did run 2, interval running, to help build speed, I have read a lot of runners moan about it, ok probably going a bit harder than me, but I loved it, got to the end of the session wanting more, For those of you heading to the end of C25k and don't know what to do, Beyond is very good at aiming for that improvement in speed and distance, I was excited when I found out it existed and so far it is living up to expectation.

Fabulous! Well done! The new in-app experience of Beyond c25k is much better what it used to be.

If you want to experience the “classic version”, head to the podcast version: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podca...

Well done! Have fun consolidating!

Brilliant to hear the other story of someone enjoying it. Truth to tell I’m not a fan of intervals but they make a heck of a difference so if you enjoyed it well it’s worth a look

well done! I was also excited to find the beyond runs. Tried them all and particularly liked the interval one. I fear though I liked it most because it was the shortest and easily fit into the day. I don’t think it made me faster though .. I look forward to getting back to it all but I’ve got a neck problem at moment that prevents me. I think my record showed something like 17 goes at the interval run and only 2 or 3 at the others

You’ve inspired me now and I will talk to the physio about resuming

Carry on enjoying the beyond runs !

Well done you...there are so many new ideas that we can explore to help our runs, evolve. I used to do one on one of my field tracks.. incorporating small paper cup markers!!!

Of course too, we know that it is our longer slow running, that helps everything evolve, including speed!

Enjoy the new experiences !

Well done to you, that sounds great. Maybe after a couple of consolidation runs I might take a look at the new app and use it to build on too. Glad you’re enjoying it

I doubt you'll be able to access the app MintT as it's not available outside the UK. You could use the old podcast versions, but be aware they're quite different to the new Beyond C25K app runs.

Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate that . If I can’t access I’ll now know it’s not me and the reason why!

The old Stepping Stones podcasts are….interesting!!! Not my favourite thing I’ve ever tried. A good alternative for interval/other speedier runs is the Nike Run Club app. That’s what got me into those sorts of runs-I love them. The longer, easy paced runs have some very cheesy commentary but the speed ones don’t suffer from that issue.

When you’re ready, we can suggest all sorts of resources to help with post Couch to 5k runs over on Bridge to 10k. Here’s the link if you fancy a browse…

You're welcome. I only ever used the C25K podcasts, not the app. The main programme podcasts were OK, but I found the repetitive beats of the post-C25K soundtrack literally intolerable.

MissUnderstanding has mentioned Nike Run Club. While I think the app is available in Portugal, you might need to change your phone's default language setting to get your preferred language. See here: nike.com/help/a/device-lang...
