Interval running??

Hi fellow runners, so this morning I thought about someone on here (Sorry can't remember who) saying they were starting C25K again, but jogging in the walking bits and putting on speed in the running bits? Well, anyway, I tried it this morning, just for variety and hopefully to increase the length of time I can do my faster pace for. At the moment when we go for a 30min run I find my pace pretty quickly, usually within 5 minutes, then I can keep going at that, but towards the end of the middle, if that makes sense? I usually put on a bit more pace, for a shortish amount of time. Feels amazing, it feels like 'my' pace, but I can't keep it up for very long before I drop back to my usual 30 min run pace for the rest.

Anyway, I'm giving the interval thing a go to see if I can up the time I can spend at my quicker pace, not by much, and I'm going to take the whole thing very steady, but we runners know little improvements can feel huge😊

I'm just going to have a look at Samsung health, see how I actually did this morning over all.😋

Enjoy the intervals... going beyond comfortable pace for shorter distances certainly changes your regular pace.

Hi. One of the mentors on this site has good advice post grad. One site he recommended said that 80% of your running should be slow and if you can't run slowly " learn". So now I do two of my runs at "my" pace and a third shorter, faster run. It's helping to improve my cardio and I really don't care about pb's etc. I enjoy running now and love the health benefits I am getting from it.

I have moved on to Nike run club. It teaches you to be a stronger, faster runner. Absolutely love it!

Is Nike run club an app? Is it costly?🤔

I started doing the very same last week. I run so slowly - my parkrun time was 48min- so hoping it will help me speed up, plus giving me structure to continue being motivated to go out 3 times a week. Start week 2 tonight. My other option had been working towards 10k but really don’t want to commit to the extra time per run needed.
