Girls can run — And so can 3 women, in 3 different countries, simultaneously

Tbh when   sheps first suggested we 3 graduated together I thought, how fantastic would that be.

The time set was for 8am. As the clocks sprung forward an hour, clarity was needed as to whether this was 8am new or old time. It was new time. This meant having to set the alarm (6am ‘real’ time) as I cannot run without my coffee! 😩

I told myself that I just needed to put on my ‘big girl knickers’ and bring to my mind my favourite saying’ You don’t ’have’ to you ‘get’ to

So I get to get up early and I get to enjoy my morning coffee before I get to go out in the early morning light. I get to run alongside the sea and I get to do so before loads of people decide to get out and embrace the day. I get to graduate with 2 other women.

How special does that sound?

Very.

Having checked I had all I needed and stretching done. Play was pressed ‘Get your motor running, head up on the highway, looking for adventure and whatever comes our way’ —I know but it was early and needed !

What a stunner of a morning, the light was absolutely incredible. The pace was fine. The first 5 minutes are always difficult. I know and accept this. 5 mins left and serendipitously   Jancanrunagain suggested running track played, and it couldn’t have been better timing

Look

If you had one shot or one opportunity

To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment

Would you capture it

Or just let it slip? Yo.

So, as the man suggested, I lost myself in the music!

And, job done.

So very special to graduate with 2 awesome women. Loving the support and camaraderie on here .

Thank you so much for organising   sheps (realised I previously missed the s off of your name — apologies) and a massive thanks for being my wingwoman   Jancanrunagain .

Onwards ♥️

pleasure was all ours. It’s an honour to be a wing woman and to play a small part in a fantastic running story. Eminem was my first track on the warm up walk but it got me pumped and I just kept on wishing you and sheps a great run. How fab is it that this place is the place that brought three fab runners together to share a headspace?

I have sun too so that makes today even better…

Yay for the drier day. Running W9R2 in that awful weather 💪 I knew I couldn’t let the side down.

Thank you so much for joining the fun. It was great to feel us all running together. In those first few minutes of doubt while I waited for my body to catch up with my mind, I thought of you and Jan and you kept me positive.

I love your "I get to" phrase. Just a fabulous outlook on everything.

It was a great idea and really appreciated it.

I often use ’get’ instead of ‘have’ it’s a great reframe. Hopefully others will find it useful and helpful.

Onwards we go!

Have read all 3 of your reports on this - I find it so moving that you all did this at the same time. Really well done!!

Thank you — it was fortuitous that we were all completing C25K at the same time. It’s a great way to finish the course and, because in different countries, no pressure re pacing!

Oh that's very special, congratulations to all of you. I've just looked at your three countries...it does help yo think of your VRBs running at the same time doesn't it?

And just look at all your Graduate badges, wear them with pride ladies xx

Thank you — it was such a good thing to have been part of. And yes, knowing we were all doing the same thing at the same time gave extra drive — no way was I going to let the others down! Now to consolidate and continue! ♥️

Hi MintT, I just wanted to say a big thank you for sharing your favourite saying ’"You don’t ’have’ to you ‘get’ to". I saw it on your post a few days ago and I've kept thinking about it, it's amazing! I think it might help me a lot in many different ways!

I was trying to find it again as I couldn't remember who to thank, and luckily Jancanrunagain referred to it again recently. (So thanks both! 😘 😘)

You are very welcome. Language, and how we use it, can make such a difference to how we feel and our levels of motivation. I often use this one, in a variety of situations and find it really helps me. If it is useful to you and to others that’s great news ♥️
