Advice on aching muscles?

During wk8, after the runs and following day, the long muscles either side of my spine ache like mad, almost cramping. Definitely not a strain, done that enough times to know!Are there any tips or extra stretches I can do to concentrate on those muscles?

I know from my years of back pain on and off that working on these muscles can be difficult. Maybe a massage?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

No idea. But sending you loads of healing vibes!

Starting daily yoga in my first year of running really helped me, as it gave me an overall body stretch and workout.

I had back pain in a number of areas (ln trigger points found by my physio! Painful but effective). She also found that the muscles on either side of my spine were really tight (I put that down to doing over enthusiastic “happy babies”). She fixed the lot over 1.5 sessions and gave me exercises to try to avoid repeat problems. Finding a good Sports Physio interested in running is the main reason I can still run. Just one person’s view……..

Yes think I may have to look at that, couple of runs this week were absolutely fine. Just done w9r3 and my back was uncomfortable before I even started, felt it the whole run. Thanks for that bit of advice.
