CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You did it!!

Here we are in December when good cheer is in the air, and what better month to celebrate your massive achievement of graduating Couch to 5k (or Couch to 30 minutes if you prefer that, even if it is a bit less catchy)?

Just a few months ago you probably wouldn’t have believed that you could ever make this much progress but you have 😊. You’ve worked your way from not being able to run, to being able to manage a minute or two, to breezing through the three 30 minute runs in Week 9. This is true progress, measurable, visible, and you know how hard you’ve worked to get here so take a minute to bask in your achievement.

Thank you to  Mummycav for awarding the badges last month. It is wonderful to share in celebrations and this month I’ll be here to pin on your badge so you can prove that all your hard work has paid off… 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

Well I got there in the 9 weeks completed the course doing the standard 27 runs and three extra within the 9 weeks. I feel very happy to have managed to do it before Christmas and finish on the date I planned to the 23rd December. Just done the final run now 5.15 - 5.45 am !, Could I kindlyhave my badge thanks a million.. I had a little discomfort in my shins and hips last evening, and considered waiting another 24 hours. But thankfully it resolved prior to this mornings early outing, I saw two small foxes on the local street when I was on the last 60 seconds of this final couch to 5k run. That was a very uplifting and somewhat emotional finale to this excellent learning experiences. From not being able to run for the bus three months ago without getting out of breath to running 30 mins three times in a week without stopping I call that a personal success and good luck to everyone going forward.

I still can't believe I've done it but I have! It took me longer than 9 weeks as I repeated some weeks a few times to give me confidence to continue. At 64, with no previous running experience i am very proud of myself and want to say to others in my position 'you can do it'. Thank you Cto5k and thank you to my wonderful partner Paul who agreed to run with me. He graduated before me and our plan now is to run regularly together in 2025.
