HELP! Accidentally jumped a week forward....and completed W5R2 and W5R3 this week....

Won't lie, when I woke at 5:30am this morning, I was not looking forward to the 20 min run....but it wasn't as bad as I thought!

I've been going with a friend, as my solo Couch 2 5k attempts in the past have barely made it past the second week.

This week, my friend was away, so I went to the gym alone.

Just spoke to her and asked her how she found her 20 minute run, only for her to tell me that we were in fact on W4 this week. Not W5.

So.......now I'm not sure what to do! Shall I carry on to week 6? Or repeat week 5?

🙈

What do you want to do? I think you could do either. Week 6 is one that often people find tricky-perhaps because of the high of week 5 run 3-that was what it was for me anyway!

Are you the sort of person that wants to tick every single run off? Would you like to keep pace with your friend and compare notes? I would probably repeat week 5 and finish with my friend. We’re all different and to be honest, there’s no right or wrong answer here

Good luck with whatever you end up doing and congratulations on your progress so far!

Thank you!!!! I think I was just a bit scared I jumped the gun and will struggle at week 9!

Honestly, running (all be it at a snails pass) for a full 20 minutes has always felt impossible. So am over the moon that I managed it!

I'm going on my own again next week, so I think I'll give week 6 a whirl and dial it back if needed.

Thank you again :)

Couch to 5k isn’t the only way to build to 30 minutes running. Some programmes are shorter. Not everyone does every single run, and some even skip weeks (although generally we’d recommend people stick to the timings as far as possible). It’s a great guide but that’s what it is-a guide. We’re all different and start from different points.

That week 5 run 3 is such a milestone and it’s totally appropriate that you’re proud!! Good luck for week 6!

I'm amazed you just bypassed week 4 and finished week 5 with no problem! You must be a born runner 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Huge well done anyway... as MissUnderstanding says, the choice is yours... you may want to repeat it... because then you have done every single week.. :) Or., if you are not one of those folk and you feel confident.. then on you go:)

Wow! A very well done.

I would probably go on to Week 6, as well. As you say, you can always go back and repeat Week 5 as necessary...
