I am finally on Week 9 of the C25k , I was in deep depression having lost my Mum suddenly . I put on 3 stone rapidly staying up late and eating whatever we I could put my hands on. Then a trip to the doctor showed me I was pre diabetic and going downhill fast so I started 10 weeks and after repeating a few runs am now on the final home stretch . Keep going and have a strong motivator - I’m doing this for Mum as she wouldn’t have wanted to see me like this . I have lost nearly 2 stone and have taken up swimming as well . I hope this can inspire others . Thank you for reading x
I and inspired by you all ..: I am finally on... - Couch to 5K
I and inspired by you all ..
🍏 You certainly have touched us & your Mum would be so proud of you. Once you cross the finish line do let us know so we can award you a shiny Graduate badge next to your name!
So very sorry for your loss. Like you say your Mum would be so proud to see what you've achieved ❤️
You have been through a lot Smilert. Congratulations on your progress. I know how much running can help. At some point soon you may start to think “what next ?”. When you do, you will find suggestions here if you need them. Distance, pace, running with others at Park Runs…lots of opportunities open up. But; graduation first 🙂
That's an astonishing journey you're on, Smilert. Best of luck, and keep going!
you’ve done amazingly well and your mum would be proud 😊
Amazing absolutely amazing you should be so proud of yourself as I'm sure your mum would be. I'm so sorry for your loss. Running the Couch to 5k is brilliant for not only physical health but mental health also. When you get to your last run the feeling is amazing enjoy every moment your running 🏃♀️ family are behind you all the way ❤️
Well done for such positive changes in adversity! Very sorry for your loss!
Do keep us posted on your final week…
I applaud you and nothing better than your Mum looking down on You to inspire !! Congratulations
Sorry for your loss. A lovely post to read, inspirational. Good luck with the rest of the programme, await your wk9r3 update. Go smash it for your mum 💕 x
my running is steady thanks. I try & run mon, wed & Fri & throw the odd Sunday in when I’m not working. I stick to 5k but different routes or reverse routes. I did get up to 10k which I’ll do once in a blue moon as it kills my knees. Thanks for asking x
