Hi, today I managed the 20 mins run, unbelievable and so pleased but my right calf just kept pulling. I did warm up, it’s taken all day for it to be a lot better, when I walk now I can feel it only a bit. Will it b ok to run on Monday? Any advice greatly appreciated 🙂

hi  Julienewrunner ..congratulations on getting so far..sorry to hear you’re having some calf pain though…any pain is not nice…when you say you’re warming up, are you stretching? Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you doing some post run stretches too? All these things will make a difference …make sure you’re doing these things…and also, are you wearing the right trainers? Have you been for a gait analysis? Wearing the right shoes is important as this can affect the way you run..might be worth a visit to your nearest sports shop x

Thank you for your advice & replying. I do stretch before and after my runs but I am thinking perhaps I havnt done enough tbh. I do drink lots of water. Then running shoes I’ll have a look at too. Thank you ☺️

Hello, thought I would leave my wk6r1 until today so gave my calf 2 more days rest. Was feeling really good and I didn’t feel anything when I stretched but after 5 mins that was it, calf hurt & then I pushed off to cross road faster as a car was coming and bang - what pain went down the back of my calf, hobbled home was better to jog very slowly than walk. So that’s me dun for a bit & off to c physio. So so miffed x 😢

Mummycav has given you some great tips... and there are a load of exercises on the Strength and Flex Forum.

healthunlocked.com/strength.......

You can try these gentle exercise when you feel the discomfort has gone, but... if you do head out on Monday and the same thing happens, then do stop running and do please, get the advice of an expert; your GP or a sports Physio.

Well done you and do please keep us posted:)

Oh no, sorry to hear about the calf pain. You were doing so well and Congratulations on running for 20 minutes! 👏👏👏

I've been away on a week's touring holiday so been sitting a lot and slow walking, not a lot of exercise. I did week 5 run 1 just before I went away and the last bit was hard, so I decided to do a Week 4 run on my return, took it really slowly, then today I did week 5 run 1 again, extra extra slow.

Hope you are back out in your running shoes soon 👍🏃‍♀️
