Stopped running about 6 months ago although the last months had not been good and I had been going back to week 6 over and over again to try to regain what I had in Lockdown when I graduated 4 years ago. Jaw problems, back issues, baker's knee... I started to wonder if you should run ar all when you get to 70? I want to start again but it's a big hurdle!

It sounds like you’ve had a really tough time. We’ve got loads of runners who are over 70-I know Oldfloss will happily put the case for running later into life. There are many others too!

I’d say that running can be amazing at an age, but it’s not the only exercise out there and the most important thing is to find something you enjoy that fits with your lifestyle. That could absolutely be running for you, but it doesn’t have to be. Starting the programme doesn’t commit you to carrying on if you’re not enjoying it. You could start and see? Often people feel nervous before getting going (I did!!) but a few runs in, they remember (or realise!) that it’s quite fun!!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

As MissUnderstanding says, there are a fair few of us here..( I am 74 now having begun at 65), and YES ... you should be, if you wish to , running or doing anything else you fancy at 70!

This life is for living, each day full of giving...grab it with both hands and get out there... Slow and steady, you know the form, keep posting and of course....

ENJOY!
