I started c25k again after completing it at least 4 times before. Got to week 6 & went from 2 x 10 minute runs to 1 x 20 minute run which I thought was a big jump & don’t remember it ever being that big a jump before.
The next day I started with the above. Extremely painful, on the strongest pain meds & getting no sleep.
I am in remission from advanced cancer & had major surgery in November so may have overdone it but wonder if anyone else has got this & thinks the jump to 20 minutes us too sudden.

Oh dear... this sounds to be a struggle for you. Well done for having done this before.
I am sure you have got the go ahead from your Drs to take this on again? Running on such strong medication sounds very hard.
As you will already know, there is 1 podcast for every week of the plan – except in weeks 5 and 6, which feature 3 podcasts in each.
This is because weeks 5 and 6 act as transitional weeks, which aim to progress you from a mix of running and walking into running for longer blocks of time.
The whole programme is so carefully structured which is why the runs change, as the running time increases,
You already ran 20 minutes in Run 3 Week 5, and run 3 in Week 6 is 25 minutes.
Each run, each week takes you on to the next ones.
Maybe ease right back and take it slower and steadier... maybe, as you say, also, you are doing too much too soon...I am not sure whether anyone else, has similar issues but their experiences will not be the same as yours, but maybe they can give their perspective,.
Old Floss has given you great advice to slow right down and take it easy on yourself. I am imagining how disappointing it must feel for you after everything you’ve been through so recently and trying to get your fitness back. Sounds like you are in a lot of pain and I can’t help thinking you should check it out with your doctors before trying to push through it.
Really hope it settles down and you can get back to running 😊
I’ve got it too but I didn’t get it until I jumped from 18k to HM (which took me nearly 3 1/2 hours ) and I think it was the continuous staying in more or less the same position for so long that did it. Had it for 4 years now and had physio, chiropractic adjustments, used ibuprofen gel, deep heat, massage gun, done every exercise I can Google, Pilates and even a couple of steroid injections- the first one helped for about 6 months and the other did nowt.
I suffered Trochanteric pain when I attempted to run further and faster, after I had been doing regular 30 minute runs with no problems. Unfortunately I pushed myself too hard (when the coach said 'run as fast as you can') and I had to give up running for a few months, even walking was painful. A year after that I tried the Jeffing Technique which is basically run/walk intervals and is gentler on the joints. I hope you find something that works for you.
