After my confession to Oldfloss on her catch up corner, todays run had to be sane and sensible. I left early this morning in the crisply fresh air, adorned with hat sunglasses and Factor 50. I was well hydrated and so ready for an easy comfortable run.
Running with joy! The name of my NRC guided run. Oh I just have to make this one special. A quick warm up walk to get past shops and crossings & then into a very slow paced run, a gentle transition from the walk. No heavy legs for me today! As I turned into the cycle lane that runs parallel to the railway line joy filled my heart. Birds!!! 🎶 It was way past dawn so a delightful surprise. The lilacs and viburnums added to the sensory joy…
I headed off the track and turned down towards the beach road immediately catching the Easterly breeze which was sea scented. From lone runner I joined in with so many lovely persons .. runners who smiled in covert fashion..early dog walkers who called out good morning and a homeless couple sharing an early morning cuppa still in their sleeping bag.
The homeward stretch a little uphill, both beckoned and challenged.. picking up the pace just a wee bit to finish strong.. I always say I don’t really care, but it is a good feeling to see green, green, green on the stats! Run done ✅
