C25K app - Can it be used offline?

Hi there.

I’ve been slowly working my way into the program by running on the treadmill in the gym. My aim is to get through it all in the gym, then get outside, maybe rolling back a few weeks.

My problem is that my gym doesn’t have mobile coverage inside and the WiFi sometimes drops out. Since the app requires internet connection, I’m asking if there is a way to download the content.

Thanks.

The official NHS C25K map doesn't need any internet connection. It downloads the trainer voices once only.

I found the App quite glitchy when I was outdoors running but I downloaded the Podcasts instead and use them successfully. Would definitely recommend and I even got used to the music that goes with it.

I used the podcasts too, as I didn't seem to be abe to access the app outside the UK.

Thanks all. I like the app and the fact I can integrate it with my own playlists but it often bugs out. Where can I get the podcasts as a backup? I’m using Steve Cram, but I assume he doesn’t appear on the podcasts.

Thanks

Podcasts are here: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/g...

I used them as the app isn't available outside the UK. Afaik the only coach on the podcasts is Laura and you can't separate out the "music" either. On the upside, I found that when I loathed the soundtrack, it was a great incentive to not have to repeat the run.

There ARE other coaches , Saran millican is one but while I find her really funny I just kept thinking “ Sarah you’ve obviously never run!!”.

Laura is very soothing and capable sounding and I find her quite comforting.

And I think there is a man too but I didn’t want a man telling me what to do 😂

Ah right, they must've updated the podcasts since I used them four years ago. So with you on the "man telling me what to do" thing! 🤣

No, it's still only Laura in the downloadable podcasts. Only the app has the other voices.

Maybe Limberlou thought I meant the app? I've now edited my original reply to make it clear I was referring to the downloadable podcasts.

I can't imagine revisiting C25K anyway, even if I found myself having to restart running from scratch. I really don't cope well with audio coaching.

Similar. Whenever I've revisited W1R1 for my runniversary, I've done it using intervals set up on my watch.

Some people love it for a comeback and it works really well. For me, it was a great way to start running but that felt like a moment in life and I’ve moved on to other things now. I won’t be going back to it. It’s great that there’s no one right way to rum and we find what’s best for us!

Oh sorry I thought there were other voices. My mistake 😢😳

I'm pretty sure that it works offline. Download it and see!

thanks folks. I put my phone on Airplane mode and tried the app and it works, so I’ll continue my journey with Steve Cram. I can also download a playlist on Spotify and use them together offline. Sorted, thanks.
