So... after a 3 month break for various reasons I'm planning my return. I don't fee like I need to go right back to the beginning, but would that be sensible 🤷‍♀️ any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Hi, you have been on this forum for several years, busy mom to two boys, congratulations on restarting C25K, you don't need to start at week 1, try running for a few minutes and see how you feel, perhaps resume C25K with week 3, if that goes well do week 4, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾

I had a big break but I did keep on going for long walks so wasn’t completely sedentary, I just put my kit on and went out well warmed up and saw how I felt and was quite surprised! Just see how you feel don’t push too hard 🤞🏼

Thanks Wavy-chick28 I definitely haven't been sedentary so finger's crossed. I think I'm going to go for the trainers on and see what happens approach...

Thanks AlMorr I think I might just put my trainers on and see how I get on!

Hello !!! How lovely to see you here again!

Maybe, as AlMorr suggets ma little jogette. no distance or time in mind, to see how it all feels. You do have a very physically active life and it may all feel pretty good!

Your body will tell you. If it was me, after the time out, I may be inclined then, to start at Week 4, just to build back into the longer intervals slowly.. I do tend to err on the side of caution though:)

Let us know how it goes, and please do stay around x

Thanks @Oldfloss. Literally feel like I never stop 🤪 and in my running absence I have been doing yoga, swimming and following your wonderful advice on fitting in small snippets of exercise in to my day-to-day routine. I think I'll go for the trainers on and see how I get on and then make a plan after that which may well involve finding the right week of c25k to slip into... I do like a plan!! X

I started back at the beginning as I liked the earlier gentler weeks to get me back into the routine and build my stamina back up. We are all different so great advice here from some seasoned pros!

Hi Sparkey5000 I do know what you mean, I have restarted a couple of times after long gaps. I might try the put the trainers on and see how I get on approach hoping that some of that stamina is still there but knowing I can always fall back on wk1 knowing that it definitely works!

🍏👏 Welcome back!! So encouraging for us when folk choose C25K for their comeback! It means it worked for you before!! Great advice already given. Just a reminder of the good old faithfuls! Run slowly at a conversational pace, make sure you are well hydrated & support your running with some Strength & Flex. Please let us know how you get on & thanks for popping in!!

Thanks Annieapple great advice and yes c25k has most definitely worked for me in the past. And I will report back when I get back out there... Tuesday is the plan 🤞

Agree with all the great replies. No agenda other than going as slow as you can.

Thanks Leosmit I'm sure it'll be slow... but just be so good to be back out there!

Hi Mum22boys I'd go out for a relaxing no pressure run and try and enjoy being out. When you come back see how it felt and that'll give you a decent starting point. Going right back could be counter productive. Going by feel (even if it feels tough) is a great way to start 😊

Thanks GTFC I think this will be my plan! I like that it's a plan.. but also fluid! Will report back!!
