Morning run

Normally I run in the afternoons but today I decided to try a morning run. I really enjoyed it (W5R1) but I've realised that the morning run makes a more treaty type breakfast MUCH harder to resist. I did. Just. But only just 🤣🤣

I always run in the morning, delaying my breakfast until I've finished. It gives me something to focus on whilst running. I am intermittent fasting so have my last meal by 6pm and then don't eat until 10am the next day after I have exercised, seems to work for me.

I do intermittent fasting too. I really like it.

Me three 14-16 hours no food. I don't do breakfast anyway, so it's not really a hardship for me.

Well done! You are doing great. I run in the mornings mostly, but not early. My treaty breakfast today is 2 satsumas and some raspberries.

I'm one of those people who doesn't look forward to fruit but always loves it when I have it. Same with fish 🤣🤣

I've found with satsumas if you peel it you eat it! Works for 2 as well 🤣 same with bananas, the raspberries were a treat but very sour, um fish.....works if I open a tin of sardines....don't know why but they get eaten

A treat breakfast may well be the best breakfast. Aim to eat protein, so an egg or two. One of my post run favourites is a mock McMuffin (I live a long way from Maccers). A muffin, a sausage patty or bacon, cheese, fried egg, bliss!Or if I'm feeling posh, avocado toast with an egg and some French or Italian salami.

It's all healthy, honest, definitely adds to my wellbeing 😁

Eggs and avocado on toast are one of my favourite breakfasts!

Always feels like livin' the dream a little bit (or maybe I'm just easily impressed) :)

What does your treat breakfast look like? Are there ways you could incorporate elements of it into your breakfast?

I used to enjoy a treat at the end of every week I ticked off. I’ve found it helpful to widen my treats to include non food things, like a posh black coffee or a long bath!

Really well done for that run!

Ohhh, I had the most glorious bath on Saturday night: book, cosmo cocktail, little bowl of crisps, footie results on radio and LOADS of bubbles. It was gorgeous. And yes, avocado on toast- yum 😘

🍏Ooh I love Plain yoghurt followed by smashed avocado on toast & good coffee! A treat after my run! Early morning runs are the best ever…that wonderful crisp air, dawn chorus & the sunrise energise me like nothing else can!! ☺️

Greek yoghurt with nuts and seeds often a go to for me 😊

I'm loving the avocado and toast fanbase. It's my favourite also. I spread sourdough toast with a thin layer of Marmite - Then smashed avocado spread on it and then 4-5 drops of Encona Original Hot Pepper Sauce on top - Delicious!!!

Mornings are wonderful and the treat,... well mine comes when I feel I really want it, and every Sunday ! Pancakes . banana and Honey !

Like Nitra , breakfast for me, is after the run. I have rarely run later than 8 a.m. Look forward to it... I always have a cuppa and two digestives though before I head out about an hour later.., courtesy of Mr OF...then a half glass of water just before I head out!

My morning run, I rolled out of bed, drank water and went out the door. I am not a morning person and at 61, show no signs of becoming one. Pancakes sounds great!

Good for you! I am going to head out for a morning walk/run this morning. Today is my first day so I'm still working it through in my head ...battling the thoughts to just stay in my nice warm bed. I know getting up and hitting the pavement is the right thing to do for myself!thank you for the inspiration

I tend to run later in the day but needed to do a morning one on Monday. It was a struggle to get up cos I'm a big fan of my cosy bed too, but it was worth it - felt like an excellent way to start the day. And, don't tell anyone, but when I'd finished, took my cuppa and got back into bed for 20 mins. Hope you had a great run 😘

Hi! Sorry I didn't respond earlier ...I'm still learning how to navigate this site :-) How is the running going for you? Nothing wrong with a 20 minute "warm down" after a run! :-)
