I hadn't run until Friday for six weeks or so due to commitments and a long bout of flu/cough in the first three weeks of January. Feelng healthy again i decided on a reasonably easy C25k week 4 run 1. All went fairly well. Yesterday and today I have muscle pain in front thighs, shins and calves. I had committed earlier last week to a long walk this afternoon. My question is - will it do my muscles good to get out there again? Or should I rest up?
Any advice from you seasoned wise ones?

Walking is very good for recovery and often better than flat rest. Listen to your legs though. If tightness becomes twinging, it’d be best to back off.
How did you get on? It's the 'long' bit which would concern me. (And whilst I'd agree with everyone else that there's value in movement for pain, post-viral things can sometimes operate on different rules if you are unlucky....)
The walk was fine and bracing and apart from the steps up and down (ouch) from Tankerton slopes was good. I also managed aquarobics yesterday and finished with the spa pool which did the muscles a world of good. So almost good to go. Thank you for asking. Happy running!
