Loaded with cold and struggling

I'm on week 6 facing run 3 tomorrow but I'm loaded with cold. Been feeling the symptoms for a week or more but just plodded on so to speak. Is it worth giving run 3 a try? Should I start the week again pushing the long run back so I have time to recover?

Take a break. Give your body time to recover properly. I’d start week 6 again if it were me. It’s only going to help you in the long run repeating runs. Good luck and well done so far! 👍

If you are feeling unwell, take a break - your body is already working hard to ‘repair’ itself and exercising vigorously on top could put too much stress on your body (if you were more experienced then a cold may not be such a problem?)

Look after yourself and repeat a run/week if you need to - there’s no shame in it 🤗 x

Personally I’d run anyway but that’s just me 🤣 Unless you’re really ill.

Rest. You shouldn’t exercise when you are unwell as it places too much strain on your body. It is not advisable (medically) no matter what your fitness level. So rest up, recover and then restart week 6 still healthy and feeling well. X

I was in the same boat. Took a three day rest but day 2&3 did dynamic warm ups and 30 min walk...carried on with program where I left off with no problem. Drink loads of water in your rest from running days & eat plenty of fresh salad. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for all the replies, so when I finished work I was feeling better,( it's one of those groggy morning and night colds) so decided to just give it a go and see how I do. Well i did it, actually felt better than I did doing wk6 run 2 on Saturday (possibly because I was on uneven ground in unfamiliar surroundings) so wk 6 completed.:)
