Shoos!!

Many thanks to Frizzbomb67 for introducing me to Start Fitness. I got some Brooks trainers a few months ago that I keep for general everyday wear, a really good waterproof coat that is actually waterproof, running socks, and now these Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22s. They are the same as the ones I bought in my local shop after gait analysis in April, so I know they'll be fine for me. AND - they're PUURRPLE!!! My favourite colour! Really good kit, and cheap prices, £75 instead of £130, probably because they are not the current model, but my first pair are half way through what I would expect from a pair of runners (I'm quite hard on them).

I'm looking forward to trying them out soon.

Very nice! I have the same shoes (much muddier and orange) they are great. Sorely tempted to invest in another pair before they are discontinued :)

Love the colour!

I wasn't going to buy any, but I have a HM in March so don't want to run in knackered old shoes, or in new stiff ones. I think some shoes degrade even if you don't wear them but my "old" pair are still feeling pretty solid. They're nice, stable shoes aren't they?

They are great, my second pair of Brooks and I'm a big fan!

Good idea to plan ahead for the HM, they'll be nicely broken in by then :) good luck with it

Another adrenaline fan here…..maybe I should get a reserve pair whilst they are still around! The heel drop and support seem to suit my high arches. Yours are cleaner than mine though.🙂

great trainers. How do you know when trainers need replacing?. I normally keep mine in good condition but they look great, though that doesn’t mean they are as good as I need them. Deterioration is so gradual I really can’t tell

There are a number of ways you can tell - first the treads, are they worn? Second - turn the shoe with the sole towards you, one hand on the heel, one on the other end. If you can poke your thumb into the sole they are on their last legs (!) Thirdly - do you have niggles in knees or ankles etc? The support foam inside the shoe will squash down if you are a heavy runner (Like me)

Expect to get 300 - 600 miles from a pair, if in doubt ask your local shop (If you have one) I rarely get more than 500 KM. Of course you can keep them for walking or everyday use.

Thanks for this. It looks like mine are still good and will continue to check them as you suggest

If you can fold your running shoes in half (toe to heel) you probably need a new pair :)

Like your shoes. I’m a fan of brooks as well especially for wide fit, not many colours but this time got dark blue peacock brooks ghost 15 . Mines the dear price unfortunately . Happy running. 😊
