Just bought my first pair of proper running shoes in preparation for week 2. A pair of brooks ghost 12.

What's everyone else's choice of footwear and what are they like.??

Hi Cowps , I’ve got ASICs Nimbus 21s , they seem fine as I’ve run most of the C25k in them and had no injuries or blisters . There is not a big brand choice here in Bahrain though so it was a case of get what fits ( I have had gait analysis done and I’m neutral).

I was assessed at neutral and about to wear out the first of 5 pairs of Nike Zoom Pegasus 35’s... bought them on offer over last winter and spring... wish they’d worn out faster as I really like the 36, but looks like I’ll not need new ones for a couple of generations.

Like you, I bought up 3 pairs of Pegasus 35s when they were replaced with the 36 (they were about half the price they would have been when first out and, tbh, they have been great - only one blister on my left arch when I first ran 10k, and that was probably more than fault of old trainer socks, rather than the shoes)... This was probably around last Easter. Guess what page now lurks around my browsing history? I am *coveting* the 36s in Goretex! I'll just have to be patient, I suppose (oh, and run more to wear the buggers out!).

Not sure on the gortex ones, I’m kinda used to wet feet now 🤣. The ones with the ankle wraps to keep you totally dry may feel strange too, but there’s only one way to find out, I’d best go try some!

My first proper running shoes where Asics gel pulse 10. Just now I've got Nike vomero 14. I'm actually eyeing up a new pair of asics at the moment , I think I prefer them. Hope you like your new Brooks😊

Snap! Brooks Ghost 12.

I’m actually on my third pair of running shoes. My first two pairs were Brooks GTS 18 which were great, but like all running shoes they went out of production. I was all set to get the logical replacement Brooks GTS 19, but they were a very different shape and didn’t fit at all well,

So be careful - go to a decent running shop with your sports socks and spend at least half an hour, Book an appointment if necessary. These running shop guys are very good.

Brooks Ghost 11s and I LOVE them.

I have a pair of Brooks Glycerin 11, size 8 running shoes, my normal size shoes are size 7 but after the gait analysis I was recommended to go a size up for running, I also bought two pairs of socks to match, Hilly TwinSkin anti blisters, they are excellent for the runs I do as well as the longer walks I do wearing proper walking boots.

I’ve just got Brooks gts 19 . First run in them tomorrow but if they are half as comfortable as they felt walking around it them I’m going to be very happy. Trainers before that was some reebok witch are quite good. Hope you like your new trainers.

Started in walking boots, moved onto minimalist shoes, minimalist trail because I like mud and bog and stuff, but honestly almost anything (not my knee boots or court shoes). In the Summer when putting socks on is putting me off, I run in my Keen sandals.

I have a pair of Brooks , New Balance, Adidas and have just ordered some Hoka ones. Next on the list is Sauconys. My name is Sham and I have an addiction to running shoes 😂 ( and anything else to do with running) but don’t tell anyone 🤫
