Week 9 Run 3 Done!! Whoopie!!!!

Another cold and slippery one this morning but we did it, finally completed the C25K.

A bit disappointing that we were not running at our normal pace due to the frost but hopefully plenty more opportunities to do that. Our treat to ourselves is to get some proper running shoes rather than the old trainers we have been wearing. The wet weather has taken its toll on what were pairs of quite sorry looking trainers to start with.

So far our running has been early morning before walking the dogs. We eventually hope to be able to take the dogs running with us. My last attempt did not go too well, Oscar either crossed in front of me and stopped when he was on the lead, or just stopped to sniff when he was not.

My boyfriend tried a little jog alongside his dog Freddie a while back and he seemed more keen to keep up with him so we are hoping if we take both out, they may both follow if not on leads.

For now we are going to repeat this run 3 times a week.

Whoop whoop! 🙌🏼👏🏼🎉 congratulations on completing it - you will have all the time in the world now to consolidate and get the time you want - but just enjoy it, the main thing is run, just run, that’s all.

If you’ve seen any of my posts you’ll know that I run with my ( very excitable) spaniel. It took a while but she kind of knows what’s expected now and I use a particular harness for running so she associates it with that. I did a few short runs at first - literally starting just going round the block - so she knew what I wanted her to do. On the whole she’s pretty good, I use a waist harness which keeps me hands free. Occasionally she cuts in front of me but mostly she just goes ahead and follow in her slipstream!! Not gonna lie, if a squirrel appears she can’t ignore it so I do have to pull her back in line. The lead with elasticated shock absorbers definitely helps here.

Best of luck going forward and bask in the glory for while!
