Week 9 #2 done

I'm so nearly there. I really did not think I would get this far when I first set out. I thought either laziness or injury would stop me but here I am comfortably running 5k in 30 minutes and with only 1 run remaining. I am truly shocked! Hopefully Tuesday morning will see me complete C25k and from there I will definitely be keeping up the running. My blood glucose levels are under control. I don't feel stressed, I sleep better, I feel happy. I even managed to get into a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear since before the pandemic.

Best wishes everybody, keep at it if you are struggling. It does get easier, especially once you have found your comfortable running tempo.

That's brilliant, not many people actually run 5k in 30 minutes by the time they graduate, very well done and enjoy your last run of the programme

Thanks so much Sue, I was a very serious TT racing cyclist in a previous life. Despite my best efforts since the pandemic to destroy my aerobic engine by drinking heavily, taking up smoking heavily and eating junk I still seem to have a decent level of cardio vascular fitness. Nothing prepares you for the high impact of running though so I definitely haven't found it easy.

Thanks to my GP telling me to get active and suggesting c25k I am now a non smoker who seldom touches alcohol and never orders a takeaway. I think it fair to say the pandemic caused me and so many others a lot of issues!

Yes it certainly did, I started running the year before so was well established, but my car broke near the beginning of the first lockdown and walking to work was eerie
