Week 8 done

I have just completed week 8 which means I am 3 runs from completing C25k. The workouts are all scheduled as 28 minute runs but it worked out wrather differently.

Run 1. This was a parkrun which I posted about on Saturday. A fantastic experience, one I would highly recommend to anyone.

Run 2. This was on what was forecast to be sunny Monday morning with 0% chance of rain. So the absolute soaking I got from start to finish must have been a new kind of grey and very wet sunshine. Enjoyable nonetheless and I paced myself more carefully. I ended up running for 40 minutes because my headphones had run out of charge and in the absute downpour I didn't hear or feel my watch alarm go off.

Run 3. I finished work at lunchtime today which meant I could get out before storm Ciaran arrives. The weather was beautiful, I managed to keep my pace steady and run at a much lower heart rate than I thought possible. This was one of the slowest but most enjoyable runs so far. I will make sure every week from now on at least one of my runs is at this much slower tempo so I can truly connect with the great outdoors.
