I'm late starting my W8 Runs this week, due to a couple of enjoyable days away with the family and for the first time since starting the C25K I'm slightly apprehensive about todays run.
Silly as it sounds, it's not that I've had more of a break between runs than normal or that I found W7 a bit of a struggle, but more to do with the fact that for the 1st time since week 3, I will be doing an evening run, rather than my usual early morning 5.30am run.
Early on in the program, I quickly found that once I'd got over the stumbling block of getting out of bed earlier, running 1st thing in the morning was so much easier than motivating myself to get out there and run after a long day at work.
I know, as with many of the runs as they get longer this is just one more Psychological battle with myself, so I'll just have to knuckle down and get this done.

I've done all my runs in the evening as I'm so not a morning person - if I had to do an early morning run I'd be equally apprehensive! I walk as fast as I can back from work, and get into the mindset that I'm going to get straight into my running gear as soon as I'm in the house and see how quickly I can get ready, then I'm straight out the door (with a small pause to feed the cat). Good luck with your run!
Thanks Eiralas, I think there are Pro's and Con's to running at both times of day to be honest.
The most difficult part of the early morning run, is the actually getting your backside out of bed. Once you're up and about and out there it's wonderful. You seem to have the whole world to yourself (apart from the odd person walking their dog at a silly hour of the morning!). The temperature in the morning is also cooler and easier to deal with. You're then left buzzing with so much energy for the rest of the day.
With the evenings I found it much more difficult to motivate myself to get out there as there's always so much going on with a busy family life and the higher temperatures can sometimes be more challenging. However that being said it's so much better for relieving all those stresses of the day.
This is probably going to turn out to be a good thing to be honest as I'll end up running a different route this evening as my usually morning route gets a little crowded during the evenings. So the change of scenery and change of views will no doubt help to distract my mind and the time will fly by.
It’s probably because it’s going to be different and a break from the routine, the mind plays tricks and can unnerve us but....you can do it as although your brain knows it’s different the rest of your body will know what to do. Let your legs carry you slowly so you’re in command and not the brain gremlins!
I know exactly what you mean as I’ve often had to run in the evening due to busy work schedule and can only run weekend mornings which somehow feel different as I just get up and go without procrastinating!
