week 4 run 1 and a happy reminder

I am not one for overthinking my next run, looking ahead at what challenge awaits, putting together some kind of plan etc. I’d rather just stick to the program and take it one run at a time - it suits me.

WELL, I knew (because the marvellous Steve Cram told me last time) to expect to run for 5 mins this time. Hmm.. once I pressed start run and he started chatting about 3 mins, 5 mins and more, I was slightly panicked and feeling like Steve had maybe skipped ahead and was obviously getting a bit mixed up! He must be! But he was there the whole way and I actually felt slightly more comfortable whilst running than during the interval walks 🤷‍♀️ (that’s another story, side calves muscles giving me issues but I’m working on that and it’s not as bad as it was).

So should I be better informed prior to each run? No I feel a sudden little shove from Steve at the last minute is probably better than knowing exactly what is coming and then anxiously waiting for the bigger runs to come around. 😂

I felt for the first time that I really achieved something with my run today and was also buoyed up when, on returning home, face book reminded me that exactly 3 years ago today I completed a 10k. Those are good memories and just what I needed to boost my confidence for the next run!

Team week 4 - we’ve got this!
