Not the best…

Hmmm I’ve had one of ‘those’ runs this morning. Wasn’t actually feeling it anyway and could easily have listened to the gremlins telling me to bin it today, but then I saw a patch of blue sky window of opportunity and I got the gear on. . I’ve had a slight crick in my neck since Saturday when in a You’ve Been Framed-worthy moment I was completely poleaxed from behind by two of my friends’ young boisterous doggos. One minute I was standing chatting and the next I was flat on my back! 🤣 Anyway I digress…I dug out my waterproof jacket for the first time as it looked pretty dodgy despite the tiny bit of blue.

The dog didn’t even want to join me which is most unlike her, so I went solo. It felt really weird not having all the doggo paraphernalia with me, I thought I had forgotten something with only my phone in my pocket. 🤣

Anyway off I went, got splashed all down one side by a lovely considerate driver which, like Shania, didn’t impress me much. I decided on a 20 mins, stuck on the NRC and my running playlist.

The best I can say is I got through it. I just never got into the groove. Not sure if it was a combination of mental and physical this morning but it wasn’t the most enjoyable. Sometimes my best runs are the ones I didn’t want to do, but not today. Ah well a run is a run and apart from a very annoying driver, I didn’t get wet. In fact the heavens opened just as I got to my front door. Perfect timing.

Well done for getting out and doing it. Maybe you didn't enjoy the run but I'm you can enjoy the health benefits of getting it done. The next good run will be all the more rewarding for the experience. :)

Oh those runs that feel tough and less enjoyable... It's done and gone and super well done for getting out there, I'm still thinking about it 😂

Those runs show you how tough you are. The next time you’re having one, you can think back to this one and remember you were up to the mental challenge. Congratulations! Things that are good for us don’t always feel comfortable but they do help us get better, move forward and show us how far we’ve come. Often after a rough one, the next one is good. Hopefully that will be the case for you!

well done for getting out there.
