Week 2 Run 1

Well, a bright, mild, but slightly frosty plod this morning. Lovely to see the autumn colours as we made our way along the railway path.

This time out, I have company, as my wife has decided to bite the bullet and see if she can do this plan too. If nothing else, it means I really have to take it slow and easy, which is a huge benefit to both of us. It's also been lovely having some company this time around.

Not sure she will ever fully become a convert, but then, she never saw herself even trying before starting out with me last week.

Good run for you and your wife, you will be very proud of her if she can complete the course and perhaps both of you can go to parkrun after that, onwards and upwards ✔️✔️😉😉

🍏 So well done to Wifey for giving it a go & for you inspiring her. SO many of us began thinking we may never achieve it or even like it & now we are addicts 🤣 Sounds like a lovely place to run too.

Your wife has it just right... well done her!!!

She may surprise you and just keep going ... well done both of you... especially you for being slow and steady too ! x

That’s brilliant! MrU runs with me sometimes. He likes it rather than loves it like I do but it’s so nice to occasionally go out together. Good luck to your wife on her journey!

That's great to read, I never expected to love running when I started, so your wife may surprise herself! It really helps to have a running buddy to keep your pace steady doesn't it. I restarted with a friend who likes to go slow and it was perfect for me, I found I could recover much better from a slow run and the rest of the day wasn't wiped out.

It seems to be having the same effect on me; it's definitely making me take things slower than I probably would if I were on my own.
