Back into the woods, back to week 5!

I've finally made it back to week 5 - I last did this run in February. I went on to make it all the way to week 7 before my foot had a fight with a bedleg and the bedleg won 😢 It's taken a long time to get my foot strong enough again.

So to celebrate making it to the half-way week of the course, I drove to the nearby forest yesterday morning while it was quiet and tested out my new shoes on the trail there. There were a few people out already including occasional bunches of adolescents in hi-vis vests wandering about in twos and threes, consulting maps and chewing their lips pensively, then striding off along the path trying to look confident.

The sun is quite low now through the trees, and it is feeling quite autumnal but it was beautiful as usual and it felt really good to be back there running. Happy runnings everybody!

What a lovely place to run you half way point. It's been a long haul getting back to being able to run again and I'm so pleased for you.

Thank you, it's been a while but I've been extra cautious. Such a good feeling and I hadn't realised what a difference the new shoes would make either!
