Week 6 #1 done

I was going to give myself an extra rest day after slogging my way through a very unpleasant 20 minutes at the end of week 5. The weather was so inviting yesterday morning that instead of a gentle morning of pottering around I set off to start week 6. What could be so difficult about it? After a solid uninterrrupted 20 minute run in W5#3 this session reintroduced walk breaks and actually had less running.

I actually found the run to be such hard work, for me the 3 minute rests seem to mean that the body never really gets through the toxic tens. I got it done, I never really felt as though I was on top of the session but in a strange sense I thoroughly enjoyed it.

One thing I have noticed since starting C25k is that I have so much more energy and feel very much more positive . I've even been doing a lot of walking every day too. After yesterday's run I walked 8 miles to meet an old friend in Greenwich. Being outside is so much better than being stuck on the couch!

It’s not always easy but you’re sticking with it even when it’s tough. And yes, it’s amazing how much better you feel even after a short while of running. Well done!
