What fabulous weather for a midday run. Couldn't wait until Monday and I did have a rest day on Saturday, so I thought I'd go for it after my early morning row and the Remembrance Sunday parade.
I ran, carrying my poppy (didn't want it to drop off my top and litter the roads). As I ran over the first bridge, there were six mallards (three ducks and three drakes) sitting on a branch of a tree which was on the surface of the river. They went boy, girl, boy, girl . . . as if at a dinner party, though they were all in a row, as opposed to being around a table. Some were standing upon one leg, completely motionless, and I thought, hmmm, they must have a great inner core, do ducks practise Pilates?
As I set off on my warm up walk, the wind felt rather biting, but on my return, it was a very welcome refreshing wind that cooled me down nicely I managed to reach a second, very pretty, flint bridge, where the river was running extremely fast, sounding like yet more applause. Really happy people around this morning, smiling and walking as couples, friends or with dogs.
I am now realising that running outside makes you appreciate the weather as well as the different noises and colours and wildlife . . . That sky was such a beautiful blue today!
Very excited to have completed this run, I know I am a long way off 5km in 30 mins, but it's a start
Happy running everyone.
