Thank you to the supportive comments. I managed to complete W6 R3 though swear an octogenarian was walking faster than me! Going to keep it slow but wish it wasn’t called Couch to 5K as that seems an impossibility.

Well done you... have you read the essential post...I am sure at this stage that you have :)

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

The name, C25K is an oxymoron...it is jst catchy...much better than C230 minutes:)

Just relax... keep it slow and keep it steady.... Your run, your pace.... check this post out...

healthunlocked.com/couchto5.......

These longer runs are perfect for relaxing into and letting the newly forming running legs do their stuff... !

Remember... snails rock!

That’s fantastic-congratulations! Those tough runs really mean something when we finish them. Now you know you’ve got that in you, you can call on that mental toughness again,

“Couch to 5k” is badly named. It should be called “Couch to 30 minutes running” but that’s not as catchy! Don’t worry about distance at all. Most people don’t do 5k during the program but build up slowly afterwards.

Well done again for today-I knew you could do it!

I thought that 6 weeks ago when I first tried several years back I gave up in week 5 without even attempting the last run x in 2021 I got to week 7 went on holiday and never picked up when I came back x this time I am doing it !! You can do this - if you have to repeat then do so but please believe it’s possible xx

Great job on the running and the progress. If octogenarians are overtaking you, it sounds like the pace is perfect. Some of those guys are speedy. Seriously, there’s a reason the app is based on time not distance (apart from that pesky name!)

I still haven’t run 5k in 30 minutes. My PB is 31:04. And that’s after a year and a half of running. Most importantly, I’m not bothered. (Which might be why I haven’t broken the 30 minute barrier). I’m still out running 3-4 times a week and I’m loving it. If they could get that in à title, it would be perfect. Not sure “Couch to Smile When You Get to Go for a Run” is gonna cut it 🤣

The programme brought so much good stuff into my life - the running community, better physical and mental health, a reason to get out into nature… None of that is measured by distance. I hope (and am pretty sure) you’ll find the same.

Good luck with the rest of your runs. We’ll be here cheering you on.
